Thee Image was Miami’s best known psychedelic rock club in the ’60’s, even though it was only open for about a year. The venue hosted many early rock acts such as Led Zeppelin, The Grateful Dead, Ten Years After and Frank Zappa. Thee Image opened on March 15, 1968 with Frank and the Mothers of Invention and closed about 13 months later.

I and my friends attended just about every concert at that venue. It was a converted bowling alley and we sat on the floor during concerts. Eric Clapton liked the area so much he bought a home on Golden Beach and named an album after it. Great memories, great concerts!
