Former Location –
This was a very happening spot in the late 60’s when such Rock luminaries as Elvin Bishop, Mike Bloomfield, Boz Scaggs, The New Riders of the Purple Sage, Tom Fogerty and Jerry Garcia graced the stage.
The success of the club made it possible to move across the San Francisco Bay and open a larger place that was called Keystone Berkeley. In 1972 the club was sold and immediately became a hit Jazz spot featuring most of the big names of the times.

The night Jerry Garcia and Merl Sanders were playing, Janis Joplin came in. She had just gotten her Rose tatoo. She did not perform.
