Marshall Tavern

Former location –
Marshall Tavern was located on scenic Highway 1 in Marshall, California. The tavern was founded in 1873 as a soda shop and hardware store for boat and rail travelers. In the late ’60s and early ’70s, it held concerts by Joan Baez, Van Morrison, Neil Young and others.

Neil Young played a three-day stand at the Tavern in December of 1975 causing a traffic jam on the narrow Highway that extended for miles.

The Tavern closed in 1982 and the building has been vacant for decades while developers consider what to do with it.
