The Concord Pavilion (formerly known as the Sleep Train Pavilion and the Chronicle Pavilion) was run by Bill Graham Presents which took over operations of the facility in 2000. It is now run by Live Nation. The Pavilion has a capacity of 12,500 people.
This is another one of those Bay Area classic venues that housed so many people since it first opened including Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart and Joni Mitchell.
This is also the place that Bill Graham and two other people were leaving in October 1991 when their helicopter crashed killing all aboard.

I remember that date and concert very well. Before the concert, I was in the line to use the woman’s restroom. I had just gotten there when a woman said to me, ” Did you see that?” I told her I had just arrived. She said se had seen a helicopter. We boty figured that it was probably Bill Graham because who else would arrive in a helicopter. During the Huey Lewis concert, I heard word that Bill Graham was there. When I got home, I heard that Bill Graham had died in a helicopter accident because it was raining so much and visibility wasn’t very good.
