Loved my time working there. Lots of great memories.
Loved my time attending many, many shows there. It’s a Synagogue now, fyi.
Buddy Guy, the Neville Brothers, Chris Isaak and so many more….countless nights of the best music in the world…inside the best acoustics of any venue ever…oh, the DANCING we did!!!….this place stocked the rock lobster tank of youthful memories for a whole Sonoma County generation. SO ironic that it evolved into a place of meditation, silence, and spiritual practice. I have been to lovely, inspiring community events there, in recent years…and it is always surreal. The juxtaposition of so much joyful rollicking memory and present day peaceable participation is jarring…but in a good way, lol. MUCH GRATITUDE for the old marvelous Cotati Cabaret!
So many terrific shows! The Blasters, Los Lobos, David Lindley, many others. First date with husband was at the Cab to see Joe King Carasco. Great times, great memories.
Saw some great shows there back in the day: Leon Russell/Edgar Winter band, Al Stewart, Corky Siegel, Norton Buffalo, Dr. John, the Uptones, the Pop-O-Pies, etc.
the 80’s at the Cab were pretty special. My highlight was going down on a Sunday night to hear the Tower of Power horns play when Huey Lewis came out of the audience and fronted an entire set. I was sitting at one of the tall, small tables sharing it with one other person who needed a seat….Norton Buffalo.
Y&T with a wall of Marshalls incinerating the audience! & Yes they were all plugged in as well as being miced up! when Joey Alves & Phil K. Were still alive, my ears rang for 5 days after that
I was there for a Y and T show in 1986 -the club was empty like 20 people but they played like there was a million.
Bonnie Hayes, Chris Issac! Don’t forget Rafa’s down the street and their “mini” burritos. 1983 I was 23 and set up a photo studio in the side room to photograph everyone in their Halloween costumes. One of the funist nights of my life.
